    Ethanol can be used for a lot of things but the land might be put to better use growing food to eat! Since we have abundant sources of coal, oil shale and even oil – using ethanol is only a "politically correct" answer so we can pretend to care about drilling for oil!

    Ethanol is more expensive to produce for fuel than simply converting oil that comes from the ground! We can’t eat oil but we need to eat food!

    When you use more land for growing corn to produce ethanol you deprive human beings of a cheaper source of food! We need food to survive, we can use other means of fuel to power cars, boats, trains, planes and factories!

    Food or fuel – which do we really need more of?

    ethanol can be used as a heating fuel, cooking fuel, and for medicinal purposes as the active ingredient in such things as wine, beer and liquor (single-malt scotches are my faves).
